About Us

Mission

To provide practical, person-centred support that helps individuals facing complex challenges build stability, confidence, and a positive path forward.

Vision

A community where everyone has access to the right support at the right time, regardless of their past or circumstances.

Who We Are

Right Step UK is a values-driven charity providing practical, person-centred support to individuals facing complex life challenges. We work with people who may be experiencing housing instability, involvement with the criminal justice system, financial hardship, or additional emotional and behavioural needs.

Our focus is simple: the right support, at the right time, in the right way.

What We Do

We provide tailored support that may include:

  • Advocacy with housing, benefits, and essential services
  • Mentoring and practical guidance
  • Support for individuals transitioning from custody to community
  • Assistance with life skills, confidence, and independence
  • Safe, structured support for young people with additional needs

Every person we work with is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

Why We Exist

Many people fall through gaps between services. Systems can be difficult to navigate, support can be inconsistent, and individuals often face multiple challenges at once.

Right Step UK was created to bridge those gaps — offering joined-up, compassionate, and solution-focused support that helps people build stability, confidence, and a positive future.

Our Founder's Story

Right Step UK was founded from over two decades of frontline experience supporting people facing some of life’s toughest challenges. Working across criminal justice, social care, and youth services, our founder saw how often individuals — from ex-offenders to vulnerable adults and young people with complex needs — struggled to access consistent, joined-up support.

The charity was established to provide practical help, strong advocacy, and respectful challenge, combining accountability with encouragement so people can take meaningful steps forward.

Our Trustees

Our trustees bring a range of professional experience and a shared commitment to strong governance and positive social impact.

Rob - Chair of Trustees

Rob brings over 20 years of experience across criminal justice, social care, and youth services. His background includes probation services, housing and welfare advocacy, and mentoring individuals facing complex challenges. Rob founded Right Step UK to provide practical, person-centred support that bridges gaps between services and empowers people to move forward with dignity and stability.

Adam - Treasurer

Adam is an experienced charity trustee with a strong background in financial oversight, governance, and risk management within health and community-focused settings. He brings a detail-oriented, collaborative approach and a strong commitment to person-centred, sustainable impact.

Larna - Secretary

Larna is a motivated and driven individual who is very passionate about supporting people and seeing them achieve their goals and smile. She is qualified within the social care field and has adequate, relevant safeguarding training.

She has over twenty years’ experience of the justice system and previously lived and worked in London for nine years, supporting people of all ages in the social care and criminal justice sectors. Her skills, knowledge and experience surround criminal justice, social care, welfare and benefits, Employability skills and special educational needs (SEN).
